Finally! Safety protocols are a little less strict. So my college friends and I went on a short weekend trip to North Cebu. Orongan Beach Resort in San Remigio is the perfect place to go if you want a cheap yet satisfactory place to unwind.
You can also easily get to the beach resort because it’s not that far and the way to get there isn’t so complicated. Take it from me; I am literally so bad at directions. So if I said that it was easy to get there, that’s because it didn’t confuse the hell out of me.
An important reminder: Book your stay in Orongan ahead because they do not accept walk-in customers at the moment. They do not ask for a down payment upon booking.
Going to Orongan Beach Resort: Transportation and Fare
Since San Remigio is in the northern part of Cebu, you’ll have to go to the North Bus terminal to ride a bus that’ll take you there. You should ride a bus going to Lambusan.
Tell the bus conductor that your destination is in Tambungon Market, and they’ll drop you there. Once you’re in the Tambongon Market, ride a tricycle that’ll take you to Orongan Beach. And that’s about it!
Fares:
- Bus Fare from North Terminal to Tambongon: P175.00
- Tricycle to Orongan: P30.00 each.
Please note that the fare back to the city will depend on the route you take.

Staying in Orongan Beach Resort: Experience
Overall, it’s a very wholesome place to stay in for quick getaways and recharge. There’s a store nearby that sells your basic necessities. You can also go to their market to buy fresh seafood. If you bring a motorcycle with you on your trip, it’s very convenient.
There’s an area where you can grill food and wash your used utensils for free. The shower rooms and comfort rooms have enough water supply and are kept clean as well. They don’t charge you for everything you try to do, unlike other resorts. Plus, the cottages are huge and nice for their price. It even comes with an electricity outlets, so you can charge your phones anytime.
It’s also okay to bring butane stoves to cook your own food in your cottage. And they even recommend that we bring a rice cooker if we want to. If you have fur babies, feel free to bring them! They allow bringing of pets in the premise.
They also allow overnight swimming! In fact, we brought our drinks and junk foods to the shoreline and drank there. My friend had a portable speaker with a microphone in it. So, we also had our karaoke session while at it.
